our summer's coming to a close

It's hard to believe in just a few short weeks summer will be over! It has been so fun having both of the girls home this summer. We haven't gone on any big vacations but we've kept pretty busy. Madison is finishing up her last round of swim lessons this week. She's made it from level 3 to 5 which is a big accomplishment for her. She started out this summer being scared to death of the big pool, now she's just a little scared;) It's been neat seeing the girls play together and develop a deeper bond. They have their moments, but overall they really adore eachother. Alex always wants Madison to hold her hand in the car, it's so cute! Anytime Madison is gone with her friends Alex gets all bummed.

Madison is getting so excited about Kindergarten. She loves keeping really busy, so I'm sure this will be a great fit for her. We have an ice cream social at her school this week, so she can meet her teacher and some of the other kids in her class. I debated back and forth whether Alex should go to preschool this fall. I figured she probably wouldn't be potty trained (which is usually a prerequisite). Alex wants to do everything Madison does, so pottytraining ended up being really easy. Grant Avenue preschool had an opening in their Tues/Thurs class, so I signed Alex up. The class only has six kids and it only lasts 2 1/2 hrs twice a week. With Madison being gone I figure Alex will have something special to do. Not to mention that I will have 5 hrs a week without kids, I can't remember the last time I had that:)

We are eagerly awaiting the arrival of Jasmine's baby! I'm really hoping she goes into labor on one of my day's off so I can be there!
