So I got the very exciting news yesterday evening while at work that my sister Jasmine was in labor! I was supposed to be Jasmine's support person (me and Nick;) so I had a good excuse to leave work and head up to Portland! I ran by the house and got the camera and started on my way. Before I got to Albany Jasmine text me to say that she was getting sent home because she was still contracting but she hadn't progressed since that morning in the office. I talked to Nick and he said she was still having really strong contractions so I figured I might as well just head up there!
I got to Jasmine's house and found her in bed and quite uncomfortable. I encouraged her to get up and try to keep things going since she wasn't going to be able to sleep anyways. So energetic Jasmine proceeded to run up and down the stairs and do squats for the next 2 1/2 hrs to keep her contractions 3-5 min. apart. I cheered her on while eating pizza and recording her contractions:) Nick went to bed soon as I got there because he had a final this morning. Around 1:30 a.m. I suggested we try to go to bed and get at least a little sleep, well 30 seconds in Jasmine leaped out of bed because she couldn't sit still with her contractions:) So we decided we'd head to the hospital. I'll let Jasmine tell the rest of the details later. Long story short it was a very long night and day!
Preston Jeremiah Temple was born today August 28th at 2:38 pm. He weighed 7lbs 14oz. and was 22 inches long! Mom and baby are doing great:)
I had to leave around 5 this evening to get back for Madison's kindergarten open house. I haven't slept in a long time!
Here's a few pics, Jaz will probably post lots more soon, if she has time:)
