Old Lahaina Luau

So last night Brock, the girls and I drove to Lahaina for the "Old Lahaina Luau." The drive was so beautiful, we passed all sorts of gorgeous beaches. We arrived a bit early and there was a festival going on at Banyan Tree Park, so we stopped and looked at the booths for a bit. Lahaina reminded me a lot of Seaside, OR with long strips of shops and tons of people. It was fun, but Wailea is definitely a lot more low key and relaxing.

So we got to the luau fifteen min. early and the parking lot was already completely full, so Brock dropped us off and went to park across the street. Apparently this luau is pretty popular and books up a month in advance! We were greeted with fresh flower leis as we walked in and our server named "Q" who was super nice! We sat at the mat seating, basically on pillows with a really short table. The people at out table were from Kansas and not all that friendly, it was two families traveling together with one child each and they were probably in their early 50's, kindof interesting;) The luau took place right on the waterfront, so the girls played in the sand while we waited our turn to go through the buffet. We probably took as many pics as we took at Alex's birth, which is a bit sad! There was an open bar, and they had a long list of all sorts of fun drinks, everything could be ordered virgin, which was nice, so the girls were slurping down all sorts of fun drinks;)
Eventually it was our turn to go through the buffet, and we had all sorts of authentic yummy hawaiian food. As we were finishing dinner the lights dimmed and they lit all the tiki torches and the "show" began. The girls loved it! After each dance, Alex would yell "again, again" and clap her hands:) As the evening progressed Alex decided she didn't want to wear her clothes anymore and took off her dress:) Brock quickly put it back on and within a few minutes it was off again, so we just left it off:) She was so cute! Madison said she liked the boy dancers the best! After the show ended we drove back to Wailea, which took about 45 min. Everybody here drives super slow! So, overall it turned out to be an awesome experience. So if you're ever in Maui, we highly recommend the "Old Lahaina Luau!"
