Why is it that whenever Natasha has a good home decorating idea, I am the one staying up all night (and all morning) with sore fingers and an aching back? :) As you may have guessed the Cloutier's are making over a room in their house for the umpteenth time. Natasha has been wanting to redo the office for a while, mostly a new paint job and a new desk. Now that I am off for a few days we thought we would take advantage and get it done.
On our way back down from Portland (and our anniversary celebration, as I am sure you just read about), we stopped at Pottery Barn and picked up a desk we had ordered. We also stopped by Home Depot to pick up some paint. As usual they didn't have the color (or brand) we had picked out previously, so we had to fly by the seat of our pants and pick a new one on the fly. We may have been a little over zealous :)
Then the real work began! First we had to clear out the office. Boy we have a lot of stuff! That took a couple of hours in and of itself. Then I did a coat of primer, wasn't satisfied and did another. Then we started painting in color! We picked out a nice bright ORANGE! The original idea was to have a nice muted orange that would remind people of the Beavers, but not scream it. Well ... it SCREAMS! After that we brought the desk up from the garage and put it together, and slowly started the arguous task of sort, organizing and putting all our junk back together. Natasha sacked out at 4 (am), and I well ... I guess I am still going (I am like the energizer bunny)!
To ORANGE!
Finally the finished product:
Well, at first we were a little trepidatious about the color, but in the end I think it turned out great! Now I need a nap!
