Brock and I got back into Portland this morning after being away from the girls for six days! We didn't leave Kauai until 11:30 last night, needless to say we didn't get much sleep! Nick picked us up at the airport, and we made a brief stop to see jasmine and Preston, then we headed home. We were so anxious to see the girls! We haven't left them for more than one night at a time before, so this was a pretty long stretch for us. It was such a weird feeling being on vacation without kids! We felt totally free! Towards the end of the week though, we were beginning to wish they could come join us for the last few days.
Brock and I had a lot of fun exploring the island and trying out different restaurants. We spent a lot of time by the pool reading and doing absolutely nothing! Unfortunately the weather wasn't at it's greatest while we were there. I guess it was to be expected since this is their winter afterall. We did have a few sunny days, but I didn't get the tan I was hoping for:) One of the main highlights for us was the dinner cruise we went on out of Poip'u! The weather was fantastic and the crew was so hospitable! It did get a bit choppy, and since Brock and I decided to sit on the bow we got totally soaked! It was so beautiful going up the Napali coast. We saw several whales and dolphins which was fun!
I'm guessing this is our last trip with just the two of us for several years to come! Now that we're having another baby it's going to be even harder to get someone to take our kids! Oh, well.
Speaking of another baby, I scheduled my ultrasound appointment for January 23rd! We pretty much know what we're having already since we have an ultrasound machine at my work and I've had several peeks:) This will just make it official! I'm so excited to be having a June baby because I'll get the whole summer off for maternity leave! I tried to plan it that way with Alex, but she was born in April, so I only had half the summer off. This time things worked out a little better:)

Welcome home! Glad you guys could do this before your little guy comes. I can't believe you are almost half way done with your pregnancy! He'll be here before we know it! Can't wait to see what he looks like. I am sure he will be adorable.
So fun! David and I were just in Kauai in November!! It is wonderful. I am gld you enjoyed your trip!
