Jasmine came down for another weekend visit on Friday. Friday evening we went to Brock's work picnic at Avery Park. They had lots of good food, bounce houses, and a slippin' slide set up for the kids. So that was pretty fun. After I got the girls in bed, Jasmine and I walked up Bald Hill, it was such a beautiful night! On Saturday afternoon I had a baby shower for Jasmine at our house. It was fun seeing people I haven't seen in forever and eating lots of yummy food. Jasmine got some really fun stuff. I can't wait to see Preston's room all put together:) I especially can't wait to see Preston! Only 6 weeks to go!
On another note, Brock and I signed up for one of these weekly produce boxes through a local farm this year. It's been a neat experience getting all sorts of random produce items each week, then trying to incorporate them into our cooking. Most of the vegetables are pretty typical things we would buy at the store. We have had a few weird things like fava beans and copious amounts of swiss chard in our box for the past six weeks! I don't know about anyone else, but I think it's nearly impossible to make this stuff taste good! There's not a whole lot of recipes I've found that use this item, I tried one tonight where you baked it with parmesan cheese. Brock's response after taking a bite was, "This is quite possibly the most discusting thing I've ever tasted"! Alex gobbled hers right down (she likes weird things). We bribed Madison with a popcicle to at least eat a few bites:) Next year if we do this again I think I'm going to request our box chard free!

Jasmine's shower and other things.......
We returned the charcoal grill Brock won at his work picnic to Home Depot since we already have a grill. We got a bunch of vegetables and herbs to plant in the new raised planter Brock built me. We'll see if they survive. So far we don't have a good track record with plants!

I am soooo bummed I couldn't be there. Dang mastitis!!!
Sounds like it was really fun!
Fun post, I was going to put up the exact same pictures but you did such a good recap job, I'll just look at yours :) That's funny that even with the parmesean cheese, the chard was still gross :) I'm so glad you guys are coming up Wed, that will be fun to see you both!!
oh look at brock and jack!! so cute!
Your sis looks so excited to be a soon to be mommy :)
I have a quick question for you...who is your primary care provider? I have to choose one now that I am pregnant again, and have never had a primary care provider for myself here in Corvallis. I don't know anyone else in Corvallis to ask these things, hope you don't mind!
Oh, and I am scheduled to see Dr. Card next week at the Corvallis clinic.. Thanks for recommending her, I REALLY appreciate it :)
