Presidential Fun

Well, I had the day off from work today, which was nice and unusual, so we decided to go do something fun. We drove up to the start of Mary's Peak road. There was quite a bit of snow on the ground just a little ways up, and even though we have studs and I locked the 4 wheel drive we couldn't make it very far, so we parked along the side of the road like everyone else was doing and slipped into our snow stuff. We used the snow shoes we go in Bend a couple weeks ago and hiked around. It was fun, but Madison got tired pretty quickly and I had to pretty much drag her back to the car in the end. Alex was just carried the whole time and she hasn't really grasped the concept of snow as being fun yet, so she was really just along for the ride. I had a good time though and it was nice to get out in the fresh air. It wasn't really all that cold (maybe 45), and the snow shoe were more for traction than floatation, so it was an easy hike. Here are some pics:

Glad to see the family is doing well. I hope we can get together and catch up soon. Maybe at a Beaver basketball game where there's nothing going on. HA!
